As a coach, you come across many players throughout the years, but there are always a few who stand out—players who make a lasting impact on you, both as a coach and as a person. Tarien was one of those rare individuals. His energy, commitment, and infectious enthusiasm for life were qualities that made him a joy to be around. Whether we were in the middle of a grueling practice or celebrating a hard-earned victory, Tarien always approached every moment with positivity.
It was truly a blessing to have had the opportunity to coach him. Watching him grow as both a player and a person was an experience I will always cherish.

Throughout the years, there were many moments that stand out to me when I think about Tarien. His ability to uplift others, even when things were tough, was a testament to his character. He had an innate ability to bring people together, whether it was encouraging a teammate on the sidelines or lifting everyone’s spirits with a joke during practice. His presence was magnetic.
I will always treasure our last conversation, which took place at our final regular season game this past year. It’s a memory that I hold close to my heart, and one that feels even more significant now. We talked about life, the future, and the bond we shared. Little did I know that would be the last time we would speak.
