Robert W. Benjamin Death, Obituary – Following a brief illness, Robert W. Benjamin, 82, of Hartville, Ohio, and formerly of Ashtabula, passed away on September 27, 2024. Robert Benjamin was the son of Lesley and Thelma (Sexton) Benjamin, and was born in Cleveland on May 27, 1942. After graduating from Shaw High School, he set the stage for a life devoted to community service and volunteerism. Robert honourably served his country by enlisting in the US Navy following his high school graduation.
After serving in the military, he started a lucrative career with Moulded Fibreglass, where he put in a lot of effort and made contributions to the field. Robert pursued his career goals in addition to being involved in his community. He took pleasure in playing in neighbourhood bowling and golf leagues, where he made friends and experienced many happy times with other enthusiasts. His enthusiasm for life and his lively personality were demonstrated by his love of sports. Robert’s dedication to serving others went beyond his work and interests. He took great satisfaction in paying respect to other veterans as a lifelong member of Ashtabula’s American Legion Dewey Howlett Post 103 Honour Guard.
His involvement in the Army & Navy Union USA John Massey Garrison #422 in Girard is another indication of his commitment to helping his fellow service members. Robert W. Benjamin leaves a friendship and community involvement legacy. Many lives were impacted by his warmth and kindness, and his contributions to neighbourhood organisations will always be remembered. His accomplishments will not be the only things that family, friends, and the community remember him for; they will also remember him for the love and laughter he brought to everyone in his path.
