Olivia Da Conceicao Death (1945-2024): In Loving Memory Of Olivia Da Conceicao Braga DaSilva

Olivia Da Conceicao Death, Obituary – It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our dear friend, Sra. Olivia DaSilva. Olivia was not only the most selfless person I have ever met, but also a beacon of warmth and kindness to all who knew her. Her radiant smile and her signature greeting, “Então querida,” will forever be cherished. Even in her most painful moments, Olivia’s resilient spirit shone through, as she managed to offer that familiar phrase when I visited her in the hospital just a week ago.

A Life of Generosity and Strength

Born on February 7, 1945, in Lourosa, Aveiro, Portugal, Olivia Da Conceicao Braga DaSilva lived a life full of grace, love, and unwavering strength. She immigrated to Waterbury, Connecticut, where she built a beautiful life with her beloved husband, Tony DaSilva, who predeceased her. Together, they raised two sons, Rui and Marco DaSilva, and Olivia’s love for her family was evident in every aspect of her life.

Olivia’s kindness knew no bounds. Whether she was supporting family or lending a hand to friends, she was always there for others, never asking for anything in return. Her positivity and courage, even while enduring personal pain, left a lasting impact on everyone around her.

Olivia’s Work and Passions

Throughout her career, Olivia worked as a machine operator at Century Brass and Devon Precision, eventually retiring after years of hard work and dedication. Outside of her professional life, Olivia found joy in the simplest of things—crocheting, sewing, and tending to her beautiful flower garden. She was a talented seamstress, crafting beautiful items with love and care. Her days were filled with walks around the mall, vibrant phone conversations, and indulging in her favorite pastime—shopping.

Above all, Olivia’s heart belonged to her family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, Rui and Marco, and her precious granddaughter, Lianna. Every other year, she would return to her homeland, Portugal, to reconnect with her roots and visit family, a tradition that brought her immense happiness.

 Survived by a Loving Family

Olivia is survived by her sons, Rui and Marco DaSilva, both of Waterbury; her cherished granddaughter, Lianna DaSilva; her brother, Amadeu Braga, and his wife, Maria da Conceicao Sao, of Portugal; and her sisters, Lina Braga and Maria Braga, also of Portugal. Olivia also leaves behind her nieces and nephews: Maria Rosario Braga, Victor Martins, Bruno Martins, and Miguel Soares. Along with her immediate family, she is remembered fondly by countless extended family members and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close.

A Heartfelt Farewell

Olivia’s life will be celebrated in a Funeral Mass on Friday, October 11, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial, with the Mass beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church. Following the Mass, she will be laid to rest at All Saints Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during calling hours from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Friday morning at the funeral home.

Olivia DaSilva’s legacy of love, kindness, and generosity will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Minha querida amiga, descansa em paz. Nunca a esquecerei. Estará sempre no meu coração.
